The 2007 graduating class of ACAD has spent an inestimable amount of energy creating art. The ‘07 Grad Show is a forum for students - cultural producers - to show their work and tell the world what they’re capable of creating to add depth and meaning to our world. It's also a great opportunity for the community to see the great talent, diversity and enthusiasm of ACAD students.

Every year, ACAD faculty heads choose two artists from every discipline to be included in the Board of Governors Awards exhibition in the Illingworth Kerr Gallery. For some students, this is their first exhibition. Whatever their level of experience, each of the students in the BoG show have excelled in their chosen fields. 

This year, the BoG Award Nominees display an acute social awareness expressed in their networking efforts - by either displaying their colleagues' artwork, or in a sense of playfulness about their artwork. This very social element in the graduating students’ work culminates in an exhibition of discovery at every corner; with installations that move audiences and invite participation.

While each artist is strong individually, they’re all further empowered by the strength of the overall presentation in the Illingworth Kerr Gallery. This strength is apparent when you walk into the gallery and indeed all the other exhibition spaces of the Grad Show. In each case you’re almost immediately encouraged to explore further.
