“NEW NATURE IN NORDIC ART”
It is with great pleasure that the Illingworth Kerr Gallery presents artist/curator Jerri- Pekka Vanhala. Vanhala will speak about the 'return' of nature in the works of contemporary Nordic artists, focusing mainly on Finnish art specifically photography. As he explains, “Photographers often refer to history of painting or other familiar subjects, like icons of popular culture”. Vanhala will examine selected works, challenging the stereotypical idea of the Nordic artist who expresses him/ herself through nature.
