Meags Fitzgeralds installation, Crèche, visits a simulacrum of her parents bedroom at the time of her homebirth. The artwork addresses maternal lineage, the distortions of memory and personal history through both subject matter and materials. By using domestic craft Fitzgerald examines cultural roles and participates in a history of woman's work. Crèche exists in a space between the real, the remembered and the imagined.
