May 6, 2010 (Calgary, Alberta) – Work from some of Canada’s most exciting emerging artists and designers, and a window into the innovative and creative process of students at the Alberta College of Art + Design - that’s what you’ll experience at ACAD’s 2010 Graduating Student Exhibition. Join us for a unique showcase of innovative next generation art and design this May 12 - 22, 2010 at the Alberta College of Art + Design Graduating Student Exhibition and discover how ACAD is engaging the world and creating possibilities.
ACAD is at the core of Calgary’s thriving creative community, and for over 85 years our graduates have gone on to transform their fields of endeavor through their creative process, becoming important voices in art and design in Calgary and beyond. Join us as we celebrate the work of over 200 of our graduating class of students, highlighting creativity, experimentation and innovation in the fields of art and design.
The annual comprehensive exhibition of work, curated by Wayne Baerwaldt (Illingworth Kerr Gallery) will be installed throughout ACAD providing access to classrooms, workshop spaces, hallways, windows, and many other spaces not traditionally open to the public. The ACAD Graduating Show premieres with a public opening reception on Wednesday, May 12 at 5 p.m. and runs until Wednesday, May 22, 2010.
